How to Compare AI Development Companies in the Current Market

September 17, 2026 · Inside Tech Soft

By September 2026 the AI pages of software companies had settled into a pattern. The same four offers — chatbots, document assistants, automation, and agents — were being sold under local phrases such as “AI development company in Jaipur” and national phrases such as “AI development company in India.” This is a way to compare those offers without scoring logos.

InsideTech Softwares is one of the companies in that market. The checks below are the ones we use on our own proposals. Use them on anyone’s proposal, including ours.

Separate the search phrase from the product

A homepage title is written for Google. It is not a scope. “Custom software and mobile app development” and “AI agents” can both be true of a company and still be the wrong first purchase for you.

Read the page for a job you recognize:

  • A website assistant that answers from approved answers and hands the chat to staff.
  • A tool that reads documents you provide and lets someone correct the fields.
  • A step in software you already run, such as drafting a reply or sorting a request.
  • A phone app for customers or staff, with AI only on the screens where a short answer helps.

If the page never names the job, the company is collecting the keyword. The AI development work that holds up is the work tied to a workflow.

What “new AI tech” means in a commercial proposal

In the current market, new rarely means a new model. It means a new place the model is used.

  • Retrieval. The app searches your documents first, then asks the model to answer from those passages and to show the source.
  • Tool use. The model can request a lookup in your system. It should not write a customer record, a payment, or a message until a person confirms it.
  • A product shell. The feature sits in a web application, a WordPress site, or an Android or iOS app, with the same accounts as the rest of the product.

Competitors that lead with a model name and never mention permissions, logs, or review are describing a demo. Ask where a wrong answer is stored and who can see it.

How to compare two proposals

Put the proposals in one table. Ignore the adjective in the title. Compare these rows.

  • Boundary. Which data leaves your systems, and which stays inside?
  • Approval. Which actions are drafted, and which are completed?
  • Proof. Is there a small set of real examples you can score before launch?
  • Home. Is the feature inside the software, site, or app you will operate next year?
  • After launch. Who fixes a bad answer, a broken API, and a model change?

A lower price that skips the evaluation set is not cheaper. You will pay for that test in production, in front of customers.

Mobile and software are part of the AI comparison

A lot of AI marketing treats the app as a detail. For most businesses it is the product. An assistant that staff cannot open inside the portal, or that a field team cannot open on a phone, will not be used.

When you compare companies, ask whether Android, iOS, or a cross-platform app is in the same scope as the model work. Ask whether the web application and the phone app share one API. A firm that can only describe the model, and not the screen, will split the project across two vendors later.

Our mobile app development and custom software pages describe that shell. AI is added where the workflow needs it. It is not a requirement for every project.

A shortlist you can defend

Keep three companies. Give each the same one-page brief: the job, the system of record, what a person must approve, and whether the first users are on a desk or on a phone. Drop anyone who answers with a platform tour instead of a boundary.

That is the current market, reduced to a buying step. The technology moves. The questions about data, approval, and the product around the model do not.

If you want InsideTech on that shortlist, send the brief. We will say whether the first build should be software, a mobile app, a chatbot, or an assistant over documents you already have.
